When Google Drive first launched, it used a "tag" interface instead of folders. That interface still lives in the fact that google drive items don't really belong in a folder the way items in a traditional file system do. Instead, items can live in multiple places at once.
However, for a long time google didn't provide any interface for seeing all the folders that a folder is currently in, or for managing removing a folder from one place but not another.
I wrote a simple, if clunky, tool to let our users manage folders that were in more than one place at a time.
